Diploma Course in Remedial Massage (Year 2)

As well as week-end seminars, students must undergo a number of home study modules throughout the year.

Students will undertake clinical hours in professional clinics under the supervision of fully qualified therapists.

A revision test paper will be set at the beginning of each week-end seminar on the lessons of the previous week-end.

Course Content

1. Orthopaedic tests for the peripheral joints.
2. Manipulation techniques for the peripheral joints.
3. Anatomy of the Spine.
4. Examination of the spine.
5. Deferential diagnosis.
6. Sports Injuries.
7. Electrical therapy.
8. Muscle energy techniques. (MET's)
9. Strapping techniques.
10. Injury rehabilitation.
11. Setting up your practice.
12. 50 hours clinical experience.

On successful completion of the two year course, therapists who register with the "Register of Physical Therapists of Ireland" (RPTI), will qualify for approval by Vhi Healthcare, Quinn Healthcare and Vivas Healthcare.

Examinations are carried out by external examiners.
